Last 30th of November, my older sister celebrated her once-a-year (can it ever be twice or more?) birthday in Canada. My younger brother and I were wondering how to surprise her and give her a cake without fedex-ing one. My brother is in the Philippines, we are all miles apart. So how can you celebrate your sister’s birthday if she’s two continents away from you? Embrace technology! 🙂

Here are a few tips:

1. Buy a cake preferably your sister’s favorite and make her envy. Black forest was my choice! 🙂

2. If you don’t have a google account yet, sign up for their free version. Ask your family members to do the same. Click this link: Gmail Sign-up

3. Go to Google plus

4. Add your family members in your Google circle.

5. Hide the cake first and never mention about lighting a candle during the hangout. Otherwise, it won’t be a surprise anymore. 🙂

6. Start a hangout!

Happy Birthday Ate Puzette! :)

Oh and by the way, you can also record and stream your hangout in youtube by clicking the Hangout on Air. You can view it a million times over and over. It also has Google effects where you can mask your face with some weird and funny stuffs.

Thanks to Google Hangout, not only does it connect people (hello Nokia!), it connects lives and makes sharing happiness so easy (there goes your the tag line, I know you can think better than that!)

Happy Birthday Ate Suzette! (Ate means older sister by the way…)
