We started our Day 3 with a ride on Banda’s back. He’s a 25-year old elephant, very playful and likes to pose for the camera. It lasted for almost an hour. After that we drove to Polonnaruwa and visited Sri Lanka’s second most ancient kingdom where we learned alot about the reclining Buddha from Mr. Fernando.
The weather was very hot so after that, we went straight to a restaurant for a buffet lunch.I love their vegetable salad. The cost was around 950 LKR.
After our lunch, we dropped by Dambulla and visited the cave temple.
It was another round of climbing up the hill. We were so thirsty so we passed by a local cafeteria and tried the local softdrinks, Elephant House Orange crush.
We then went to Kandy’s Spice Gardens and Spice where we bought an all-natural organic aloe vera facial cream and sandalwood facial cream. According to them, sandalwood can prevent wrinkles. 😀
From the Spice garden, we drove to Kandy hill. The weather is cooler in Kandy hill. We checked in at Serene Grand hotel. It was the most beautiful hotel we went to during the trip. It’s on top of the hill so it overlooks the city, the valleys and other hills.
